How has fish density changed with time?

The Rockfish Conservation Areas (RCA) have been in effect since 2002, and it is the goal of this project to determine how fish density has changed since RCA implementation. Catch per Unit Effort (CPUE) is often used as a proxy for relative fish density. CPUE, in units of fishes caught per hook per hour, increased at all sites sampled (i.e. at both RCA and Reference (REF) sites] with respect to the 1996-1998 data. [t-test statistical significance between mean 2012-’14 and 1996-’98 CPUE values: (*) p ≤ .05 ; (**) p ≤ .01 ; (***) p ≤ .001
