My thesis research focuses on the adaptive capabilities of kelps. More specifically, I’m investigating how a local kelp species stores and allocates compounds seasonally, and how this can be affected by wave disturbance.
My introduction to Phycology began during a semester on Santa Catalina Island during my undergraduate degree. Ever since, I’ve been in love with seaweeds!
What I enjoy most about the Phycology Lab at MLML is the support and collaboration with my lab mates. Some of my greatest memories are those out in the field with my friends.
