My interests are focused on analysis of advective mechanisms at work in the Monterey Bay and their impact on chlorophyll concentrations experienced at the coast line.  Specifically I am seeking to understand what forces govern the amount of phytoplankton supplied to coastal ecosystems (within 1 km of the shoreline).  My work relies upon public data (NOAA and CenCOOS) as well as scripting my analysis in Matlab.

I plan to transition my analyses to the Python programming language and automate data collection and analysis.  I enjoy developing interactive data visualizations like the one found here and hope to continue this work after my thesis is complete.
